***There is going to be a special fundraising item that is going to be announced very soon. It involves a special necklace that was designed especially for Jessica and all the proceeds from the sales of this item will be donated to Jessica's Journey Savings Club! I have seen it and it is beautiful! It was made in honor of Jessica and her efforts to increase Lyme disease awareness, something that Jessica has been very passionate about since she has been battling that disease for the past four years as well! As soon as I have all the info and links, I will blog this SPECIAL NEWS and how it all came about and how and when it will become available!!!

Pastor Browning from N.Y. officially arrived to the Hospital San Jose Tec de Monterrey at 11:00 AM yesterday. It is so good to see him again. He brought with him some of the items that I requested from home as well as some surprises. I would like to thank Linda Wardley for the book entitled "Stories for the Heart" by Alice Gray. I will enjoy reading it while here in the hospital! Also, thank you to Cindy Scavelli for the beautiful gift she sent as well! Also, thank you Pastor for bringing me a new NIV study bible and for the special message inside!

Also, a BIG shout-out of thanks to Jean Eschmann & Jen Gibbons who teach a 7th grade all-boys CCD class at St. Anne's Church in Garden City. Through my dear friend Angel, they were able to send some special handmade cards to Jessica, via the Pastor. This class said the rosary with special prayers for Jessica's healing and I read them to her. We were both very touched by them. Special thanks to the following boys: Ryan, Patrick, Connor, Lucas, Joe, Will, Chris and little Henry for a job well done! Thank you also for sending the actual rosary beads you prayed with! Jessica has them in a special place in her bed and she will pray with them every day!!!

Update on Jessica:

Jessica is still not feeling that great, but the good news is that so far she doesn't need the blood transfusion yet. We are waiting for Dr. Cantu to see what the plan is for today and whether or not she can receive another booster today. She still continues with the slight movement in the right leg and the better movements in the left leg. Please pray for her to feel much better than the past few days! We are thankful that Pastor Browning is here to offer his prayers as well - what a gift from God to have him visit here in Mexico! Today he has planned to run some errands for me by taking a mexican "green taxi" to the local H.E.B. Hope he remembers how to speak spanish from his wife Amber, who is a spanish teacher back home!

From Mexico with love,
Sarah Gina (Jessica's Mom)

  1. I am sending you a really big hello all the way from Canada! I had trouble reading the blog as I had bookmarked it but could only get one page. Today, my head is clearer and I was able to figure out the big mistake so have just been doing lots of catching up! Thanks for the laugh out loud over the bug and Dr. Cantu's cough. Jessica, no one is ever going to get one by you!! :)

I just returned from a week in Tampa, where Theo and I did our one month follow up with D. K. This, of course, made me think ever more and pray ever more for all the coma patients but especially for the ones that are still holding their hearts towards home. ( you and Devon) May you be restored to full health very soon! There are so many praying tirelessly for you that you can do nothing but win! I know you will miss the team in Monterrey, they are a special class of people that God has put in your path for just this purpose. I am glad that they fill you with continued hope.

We saw Justin while we were there and his Dad. It was almost like a reunion!

How wonderful that you have your pastor visiting! That is truly special.

My recovery has had some medical set backs and I will have to get some more serious tests taken to determine what needs to be done to get me back on track. I was too sick, as a result, to enjoy our time in Tampa but Dr. K put me in touch with a good doctor there and now I have had a little insight into the US medical system! ha-ha

I hope that your new room is bug and noise free and that you are comfortable. May your eyesight be restored and may you be relieved from "becoming more Spanish" through blood transfusions. I would rather you just married a Spanish man! ha-ha. (perhaps your mom is not too happy I wrote that to you.)Wait till your older! My daughter, who is 17, has always had an interest in older men but while we were away in Florida, my friend managed to nip that one in the bud! :)

We think of you often. Know that we care. Have a great week! Sen me an email if you get the time
